Knowember

Robert launched a new blogging idea: Knowember. Get to know the person behind the blog. Short.

Short is my thing, so here goes!

A photo

Close-up portrait of a man with a full dark beard and short styled hair, wearing a black T-shirt, looking upward to the left against a solid green background. — Me.

Atog: A creature card from Magic The Gathering.

Sacrifice an artifact: Atog gets +2/+2 until end of turn. — atog

This is the photo I sent in for my Iconfactory Pixel Portrait which I now use everywhere I can. Maybe I'll try another one someday.

Name or nickname

Surprise, surprise, but atog is not my name. That's where the second ~~photo~~ image comes from. I got it from a magic card. As a student, I was an avid MTG player, and this was my favorite creature. When I started working back in 2000, I suddenly needed a nickname/username/handle. It was an easy choice. Ha!

Where in the world I blog from

I live and blog from Edegem, Belgium.

What my blog is mostly about

All the things that come to mind and I find the time to write about. It used to be mostly technical stuff (Java, Ruby-related), then it became more about family and kids. Nowadays, my children are 22, 20, and 17, so we've got a bit more experience there, and they've grown out of the easy, funny things to share. Today, it can be about anything I want to write about. I don't like reading lengthy blog posts, so you'll find mine to be concise and to the point most of the time.
